Unlock Samsung & Blackberry PhonesIs Unlocking Illegal It is definitely not illegal to unlock your phone. The misunderstanding arises from the entirely seperate issues of changing an imei number on a handset. This is done by criminals who take stolen phones and change the identity of them to resell them as a working phone. On the link below you will find information on the legality of mobile phone unlocking on the metropolitan police website

Our services do not change the imei number of the phone. We simply use the serial / imei number to generate an unlock code for your phone, including Samsung unlock and Blackberry unlock codes. This is not illegal and it is pretty similar to the way in which the DVLA would use your car serial number to check where / when a car was registered.
As a sidenote, changing the imei number of a phone is illegal just as changing the serial plates on a car is illegal. Currently, changing the imei number on a mobile phone carries a potential 6 year jail sentence in the UK. Anybody asking us to change the imei number of a phone will have their details passed on to the Police so please do not put is in that position. We are in the business of helping the rightful owners of phones to use their phone on any network they wish. If you are confused about this issue then please contact our customer services department who will be happy to help you. |
